6.4.7 Mandatory Cells where no data is available
A number of Cells are marked as being mandatory in the various Record definitions in this part of the RDR standard. This is because the data in these Cells is essential for the recipients to be able to fulfil the required business process. However, in some cases, it may be possible that a sender does not have the data required to populate a mandatory Cell.
In such case, the following values shall be entered:
In Cells of type string: #unknown#
;
In Cells of type date: 9999-01-01
;
In Cells of type duration: PT9999H01M01S
.
It is not permitted to leave mandatory Cells empty as defined in Clause 6.4.6.
The tokens may not be used in Cells marked as optional or conditional.
The circumstances under which such behaviour is permissible may be limited in accordance with the bilateral agreement agreed between the sender and the recipient of messages created in accordance with this prat of the RDR standard.
